Sandra Perez
Sandra Yanice Pérez is a Puerto Rican-born mixed-media collage artist based in Goshen, Indiana. Formerly a high school teacher, she holds a degree in education from the University of Puerto Rico. Her artistic practice began in 2010 and has evolved into a recognized career rooted in visual storytelling and emotional depth.
Her work gained recognition with Maria de La Cruz, a tribute to a breast cancer survivor, followed by Entre las Flores in 2020, which was selected for Downtown Goshen’s Art Alley. Pérez integrates personal and found paper elements—such as book pages, tickets, handwritten notes, and letters—into her compositions, creating layered narratives that reflect memory and identity.
Working primarily with acrylic and India ink, Pérez approaches each piece intuitively, guided by concept rather than formal technique. She has received the People’s Choice Award at Arts on the Millrace (2020, 2024, 2025), and in 2023, the EXPOARTE exhibition was dedicated to her.
