Haylee Shoop
Haylee Shoop is a mixed-media artist whose work blends the fluid beauty of watercolor with the precision of detailed ink illustration. She begins each piece by laying down expressive watercolor washes designed to enhance depth, shadow, and atmosphere. From there, she devotes 50 to 70 hours using a .005 Micron pen to create intricate, world-art–inspired patterns. Haylee continually challenges herself to improvise new designs in every piece, ensuring that no two works are ever the same.
In the past year, she has further evolved her style by embedding small, hidden drawings within her larger compositions—an element that adds surprise and delight for viewers, patrons, and collectors who take the time to explore her pieces closely.
Animals make up the majority of Haylee’s subject matter, though she also draws inspiration from the regions where her upcoming art shows are held. Ultimately, she chooses every subject based on what brings her joy in the moment, infusing each creation with genuine passion and playfulness.
All of Haylee’s artwork is fully hand-drawn and created using ink over watercolor on cold-pressed watercolor paper, showcasing her dedication to craftsmanship, detail, and imaginative design.
