Chad Balster has been working with glass since 1996 in Minneapolis, MN. He studied at the University of Minnesota and received his BFA in 2000. Since then he’s worked at White Pine Studio in Battle Lake MN, Louisville Glassworks in Louisville KY, The Studio in Corning, New York, and Mark Matthews in Archbold, Ohio, and Hyland Glass in Louisville, KY. Also a fan of mobile glassblowing endeavors, he has built and worked out of Juicy Lucy the first glassblowing Hot-Rod. In 2022 he started building his own studio, Chad Balster Glass, in Southwest Louisville. Nestled near the Jefferson Memorial Forest, Chad and his team are making more glass and coming up with new designs and techniques.
