Ricardo Cortez
Ricardo Cortez, a talented Steampunk artist with a unique background and a passion for creating functional and decorative sculptures. Born in Antonio TX, Ricardo’s artistic journey started in Frankfort, Indiana. As a young boy, he was captivated by superheroes, animation, and theater, fueling his imagination and creativity.
At the age of 28, Ricardo joined the Army and became a combat veteran. While in the service he managed to express his artistic talents as a muralist, creating dioramas and paintings for the Army. He even had the honor of designing an army unit crest and coin. After his military service, Ricardo settled in Valparaiso, Indiana. Working as a millwright allowed him to be surrounded by pipes and discarded metal, which sparked his fascination with steampunk art.
Ricardo’s love for steampunk art led him to experiment with transforming discarded metal into intricate sculptures. Combining functionality and aesthetics to his steampunk sculptures.
