Cindy Evitt
Cindy Evitt resides in Wilkinson, Indiana. She specializes in acrylics with a focus on flowers, nature, still lives and portraiture. Cindy has loved art from a young age and much of her inspiration comes from playing in her grandmother’s garden as a child. Her grandmother was an oil painter and art was something they shared.
After many years of not painting, Cindy, visited an art gallery while on vacation in, Santa Rosa, FL, in 2016. The acrylic paintings really stood out to her and inspired her. The same day she went to a local art store to buy supplies and began experimenting. She soon discovered that acrylics were a medium she would fall in love with. Cindy has since taken online courses and workshops with some artists she admires. Painting has become for her a daily discipline.
Cindy likes to photograph her subjects, design them in Photoshop and paint them on stretched canvas or wood. Her process begins with a value study and an underpainting that is often complimentary. Paint is applied in layers with minimal to no blending, and she likes to see some of the underpainting shining forth through her finished pieces. She hopes that her art will bring joy, inspire others, and glorify God.
